Adult Education Course with Rabbi Talya: Exploring Judaism, a Reconstructionist Approach
Meets on Zoom on 3 Wednesday nights in July, July 17, 24, and 31 from 7-8pm.
Please join me for a 3-session exploration of contemporary Reconstructing Judaism. This course is suitable both for those interested in converting to Judaism, and for those who have been Jewish for a long time but are interested in understanding more about Reconstructionism and its underlying principles and theology. It will help contextualize our movement and the values that inform so many of our policies locally as a synagogue.
We will be using the book Exploring Judaism, a Reconstructionist Approach, 2nd Edition, available for sale here or used online (but please be sure to get this edition).
Exploring Judaism: A Reconstructionist Approach
This is a short and easy to read book, we will cover about 50-60 pages of reading per class. Please get your hands on a copy and read pages 1-51 before our first session.
If there is interest after the course wraps up, we will extend into further, deeper readings over the course of the coming year.
